Completely New Tools And Carbide Insert Shapes From Iscar To Better Enhance The Machining Method

Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts using a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer incorporates a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer utilizing a varying frontal edge.

The completely new chipformer was constructed for machining soft materials. It is an excellent solution for parting bearing steel and other very ductile materials. It can be used at low feed: 0.03 to 0.10 mm/rev.

The combination of the brand new chipformer and IC908 grade provides excellent chip breaking and tool life results. The Penta 34-PB is available in a 1.5 to 3.0 mm width range, made from the ingenuous IC908 PVD coated grade. The new family expands the application range of Iscar's utmost practical grooving and parting PENTA 34 carbide inserts. The Penta 34-PB, when sized up to a competitor's tool, is a winning solution for machining every soft and ductile material.

Iscar's Upgrades for Parting

Iscar has developed a new family of reinforced Tang-Grip blades for the applauded TRAUB (TNL and TNK models) and INDEX (MS18C model) turn/mill machines. These blades, due to their reinforced construction, can be utilized in long overhang. Only the part of the blade imperative for penetration (cutting depth) has a reduced width. The remainder is thick, which provides improved rigidity and stiffness. These blades are an excellent solution for parting and grooving between the main and sub-spindle of turn/mill machines. The single-ended insert has a incredibly rigid clamping and therefore provides a very important advantage over any other system.

Further additions to Iscar's Grip family are Do-Grip carbide inserts made from the cutting edge Sumo Tec carbide grades: IC807 IC808 and IC830. The unique Sumo Tec grades notably prolong insert life, due to the most advanced coating technology followed by a special surface treatment. This also provides enhanced tool life due to low surface stress and an evenly coated top surface. The even surface contributes to constant uninterrupted chip flow, less produced heat and less friction. The new process refines toughness and chipping resistance and thus decreases friction and built-up edge. This in turn increases and prolongs tool life at increased machining conditions for all types of work piece materials. The new PVD process is constructed of Iscar's AL-TEC coating technology, utilizing the unique surface treatment.

Iscar's Chip Splitting Inserts
Iscar's completely new HM90 APCR 220605-CS grooved carbide inserts put an end to chip jamming troubles in rough milling of aluminum, where chips can pile up. They are a part of Iscar's growing Helialu HM90 line of inserts styled specially for aluminum milling. With two grooves pressed into each polished cutting face, the inserts split aluminum chips into a manageable size for easy, reliable evacuation despite the application's characteristic high chip volume. The 22 mm inserts, each with two edges, are designed to optimize metal removal over the complete range of aluminum roughing conditions, from high power/low speed to high power/high speed. They work particularly well with Iscar's completely new HM90 EAL/FAL...22 aluminum rough milling cutters. Besides reliably clearing chips, the inserts conserve power and reduce chatter in long-overhang setups. The inserts feature a cavity on the bottom to ensure correct mounting in cutter chip pockets equipped with standard spring pins. For best chip control, Iscar recommends using the HM90 APCR chip-splitting insert only in cutters with an even number of flutes.

The Most Recent In Carbide Endmill Architectures In A Extensive And Prospering Line From Iscar
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can eliminate chatter problems in many milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree endmills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the main source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.

A Variety Of Advancements Have Increased Iscar's Families Of Indexable Endmills For Elevated Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.

A Few Of The Several Improvements In Carbide Inserts Coming From Iscar
Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has significant advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in higher performance.

Iscar Recently Made Public Numerous Original Lines To Increase Their Family Of Milling Tools
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.

Iscar Adds Their Most Recent Innovations To A Lengthy Line Of Prosperous Hole Making Solutions
Iscar recently released several different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These new products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their experience Iscar has come up with new and innovative ways to increase productivity for the end user.

Cutting Edge End Mills Coming From Iscar Can Raise Productivity While Shrinking Costs
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in numerous milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
